Hilversum, to some better known as ‘Hillywood’, the Hollywood of the Benelux. It might be a bit smaller than its American counterpart, but some of the biggest television shows were created here. Big hit shows like the Voice, Big Brother and Deal or No Deal originally came from the Media Park in Hilversum. Are you curious to know how these shows were made? Or maybe you want to know more about the history of the Media Park and how it became ‘Hillywood’. Then join our Media Safari on Sunday October 13th during Dutch Media Week.
During the ‘Open Studio Dagen’ (Open Studio Days) Media Perspectives is organizing a Media Safari for internationals. In an hour and a half you will have experienced all the highlights that the ‘Open Studio Dagen’ have to offer. You will learn more about the Dutch media-industry, its mayor players and the dynamics of the industry. Furthermore, you’ll get a look behind the scenes at the Media Park studio’s and companies. At the end you will have a better understanding of what makes Hilversum and its Media Park so special. For individuals and families!

Media Safari for Internationals is part of the Dutch Media Week. This is the media festival of the Netherlands where the heart of the story is central. From 4th to 13th October 2019, the whole of the Netherlands – from young to old, from users to professional media makers – can immerse themselves in, be surprised and inspired by and learn from media. From creation and technology, to the impact that media have on everyone’s life. A festival in which special and topical stories of – and about – media are told and discovered.
The festival is organised by Beeld en Geluid, in close cooperation with the municipality of Hilversum and Hilversum Marketing. www.dutchmediaweek.nl
